I was a little skeptical of the whole idea of a food with “cheese alternative” on the label, but I’ve been hearing such good things about soy cheese. So I bought it.
I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised. My first experience with soy cheese was a string cheese copy-cat that had an annoying aftertaste. However, while this brand doesn’t taste exactly like real cheddar, it is a good substitute. It also melts well, which is a complaint of dieters using fat-free cheeses. Not to mention, it grates well and is low-fat.
All in all, it was an excellent food find.
