I’m not a fan of microwave popcorn. I think it all tastes stale, which is an opinion I know isn’t always shared. However, growing up we had one of those electric poppers that popped your popcorn in oil or butter. Now that was good popcorn, but unfortunately not a particularly healthy snack.

So, I decided to find a healthy alternative that was diet friendly and didn’t taste like cardboard…and years after trying everything from microwave air-poppers to counter-top air-poppers, I’ve finally found “the one”.

The Presto 04821 Orville Redenbacher Hot Air Corn Popper is designed to pop your treats in less than 3 minutes without oil or butter and direct it into a bowl. Unlike other cheaper models, it has less of a tendency to send projectile popcorn all over your kitchen. For those who like to add a little butter for taste, the 1/2 measuring cup that comes with doubles as a butter melter.

I purchased mine for less than $20 at amazon.com, though it is slightly more now.
