Baked Ziti Casserole

Servings: 6

  • Ingredients
  • 16 oz spaghetti/marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup part-skim ricotta cheese
  • 1 lb ziti pasta
  • 10 oz frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1 cup chopped mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup mozarella cheese, lowfat, shredded

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the broiler.
  2. In a large bowl, mix spaghetti sauce and ricotta thoroughly, until smooth.
  3. Cook the ziti according to the package directions. Drain.
  4. Place sauce, ziti, spinach, and mushrooms in a 9″x13″-in. baking pan. Mix well and spread evenly. Sprinkle with the cheese.
  5. Broil until cheese is melted, approximately 5 minutes.

Cooking Suggestions
Substitute or add any vegetables you like into the mix.

For a chunkier sauce, add diced tomatoes.
